You go to a hotel, place an order, and a small innocent boy comes to hand your parcel. What happens when you see this small boy work? You feel pity. You feel that in this age when a child should study, play, enjoy his childhood, he’s made to work. You feel like blaming the government for just for not taking any action to get rid of child labour. Isn’t it?
But as the saying goes, every coin has two sides. So, can we have a look at the other side of the coin? Can we think that child labour should prevail and look at the positive aspects of it? Why not give it a try…
Poverty- the root cause of child labour. Parents facing poverty find it difficult to educate their children. Hence, they send their children to work. But imagine, child labour is eradicated, but due to poverty, this child is still not being educated, and the child just goes around aimlessly. In this case, if the child falls in a good company, its fine, but if he falls in a bad company, then unfortunately, there are high chances of the child going wrong way.
If child labour is encouraged, their workplace, its effect on them, behavior of the owner towards the child, etc are the questions which arise. But I think, it’s better to handle these questions instead of the negative consequences of getting rid of it.
The government can encourage child labour under strict protocols. For e.g. the workplace.
But then, this topic is highly controversial and every person thinks different. So, upto the reader…
